Ok, so I have definitely caught the Matt D’Avella bug when it comes to 30-day challenges, and while I don’t think I’ll be taking cold showers every day for 30 days (seriously, if you live in a hot place, you know it isn’t possible even if you wanted to – the cold tap isn’t even cold anymore) I have decided to do a few 30-day challenges of my own in 2020.
In January, I have decided to attempt Veganuary – a challenge to go vegan for the 31 days of the month.
While I don’t think this will be a very difficult challenge, based on the fact that I eat mostly plant-based, I really wanted to do this challenge to see what parts of my diet still need to change on this journey. I think it will be a cool experiment to see how many aminal products still remain in my diet, and how I go saying no to them.
I think the most difficult part of this for me will be food that is going to go to waste. I find it difficult to say no to food when it is going to go to waste, and I want to spend this month trying to find ways to make sure this food doesn’t go to waste, even if I am not the one that consumes it.
I feel like this will help me on my vegan journey in the future, but only time will tell. I will report back in early February, but in the meantime, I would love to hear any ideas or suggestions that might help me achieve my January goal! Just leave a comment below.
