Taking a moment for gratitude

Sometimes I forget to take a moment to be grateful for the people around me. In this fast-paced world, and this beautiful low waste movement, it can be so easy to be frustrated at the world around you and to forget what is important – or at least that’s how it feels for me.

I recently celebrated my eight year anniversary with my lovely fiance, and it reminded me to be thankful for him, and the other people around me who have been supportive of me, and my Zero Waste journey. Not once in the 2 and a half years since we began this journey has he ever complained about my out-there ideas or huge changes to our day to day life.

There are so many people who think what we do is strange, or crazy, or not worth it – and often they are the people that get our attention, but it is important to take time to think of and thank those who support our journey every step of the way.

Is there someone in your life that supports your Zero Waste journey? Maybe someone who encourages you? Today is a good day to think about them, instead of all the haters.
